2,981. Hello all :) The ES44AH is a freight locomotive produced by General Electric ,in their GEVO series. This particular unit being painted by CSX to show their heritage before Chessie System, and Seaboard coast line merged to CSX. Chessie System railroad being created in 1973. All my builds are free of use with credit.
The road numbers on all the heritage units have corresponded to the year the railroad they represent was founded (the B&O unit is #1827, the Chessie System unit is #1973, the Seaboard System unit is #1982) Another Chessie heritage unit! The Heritage Units website has added CSXT GP40-2 6914 to the roster of reportable units. The post below says this is not a company-sanctioned unit, so we'll see how long 6914 has the Chessie look from the front. On June 10th 2023, CSX 1973 was shown wearing the 2nd CSX Heritage unit wearing Chessie System livery. Imo, CS on a Gevo looks really weird.
